Google WiFi mesh

Google engineer and USB Type-C evangelist Benson Leung mentioned a bit of a discovery for Google WiFi, the network-meshing router modules that the company introduced this week.

There’s nothing on the router’s spec sheet that just quite mentions what’s going on with the power adapter, — other than it has a 15W maximum, but the device only consumes 9W — but Leung announced that USB-C connectors are on the adapt. In fact, its configured to the same 5V, 3A spec that Google chose for the Pixel C.

“You could just as easily use [the adapter] to charge one of your new Type-C phones,” Leung posted on his Google+ page, “and conversely, use your phone’s 15W power adapter to power Google WiFi.”
