Piece by piece, over the course of the day we’ve been getting to know Google Play’s holiday deals. First we spotted that sale on whole albums, and later saw Google’s generosity extend to a 75-percent-off sale on movie rentals. If you’ve been following these offers, you had to be thinking what we were: “Those are cool and all, but Google Play sells a lot of other stuff, too; where are the sales on apps?” All good things come to those who wait, and it looks like our patience has paid off, as Google goes public with the rest of its Play Store deals.
How about those apps? We love a good game as much as the next guy, and Google’s got some nice deals on a couple dozen. Titles include popular games like Monument Valley, Trivia Crack, and Minecraft: Story Mode, with prices starting as low as ten cents. There are some more expensive games (but nonetheless good values) mixed in there, but the majority can be yours for a buck or less.
That half-off an album deal was pretty good, but what if you crave even more music? If you’ve yet to try a Google Play Music subscription, now’s a great time to give it a spin, with Google offering three months of access for just one dollar.
If the written word’s more your thing, you’ve got options, too: Google Play’s got a whole load of books discounted by as much as 80 percent, and Google Newsstand’s giving you the chance to check out a few dozen magazines with three-month trial subscriptions for just three bucks.
