Google Play two-year anniversary deals incoming

Do you ever slip up and still call the Google Play Store the “Android Market?” We’ll admit it’s happened to us more than once, but as time goes on the new name has really grown on us. It’s coming up on two years ago now that Google made the transition, and in order to celebrate the anniversary, it looks like the company has some special offers headed our way.

For the moment, though, most of us still can’t see anything. News of the deal comes to us from Australia, where at the moment it’s already in the early hours of March 5 – so, chances, are, we’ll see this offer extends to other areas around the globe as we start moving into tomorrow. The very same situation happened last year, with Australia similarly getting early access.

Right now, we’re curious if the deals may vary based on region, because what we’re seeing in Australia is, well… a little meh. For some reason, there seems to be a number of already free-to-play games included among the offerings, mixed in with a few mediocre book, movie, and magazine deals. Here’s to hoping that the selection is a little more tempting elsewhere!
