Google Photos

Many people are using the Photos app that comes with Google+ (and there also are users who can’t wait for it to go away), but, apparently, with the latest update to the Google+ app, the Photos counterpart will go away. This message (pictured above) will pop up, at one point, once you get the Google+ 5.8 version from the Play Store: “This Google+ version of Photos will stop working soon. But don’t worry! All your photos and videos are already in the new Google Photos — organized, searchable, shareable, and ready for you.

Those who were relying on the built-in Google+ Photos section should start moving to the new Google Photos App, introduced at Google I/O (live since May 28). This means that the Google+ application will take less space in your device, without its Photos App, and it also means that those who didn’t use it at all won’t have to see it (or hide it) from their app drawer.

Are you already using Google Photos? Do you care about the Google+ app Photos counterpart going away?
