“We’re not first, so we might as well be last and know something.”

That’s a line we ripped off from The Newsroom, and it’s also our review philosophy when we don’t get a demo device in time for a punctual review. But we (finally) have a Nexus 6 in house, and we’re (finally) going to unbox it – and we’ll try to turn the delay to our mutual advantage in the process.

In case you missed our multiple podcasts discussing the Nexus 6, what we’re looking at here is a real monster on the spec sheet, the size chart, and the price list. The $649 Nexus 6 is the largest Nexus smartphone ever released, and it packs cutting-edge internals to go along with its gargantuan footprint. We’re planning a direct comparison with last year’s Nexus 5 and a similar faceoff with Motorola’s 2014 flagship, the Moto X, before the full review … and in the meantime we’d love for you to tell us just what you’d like us to cover in that review when it arrives. Let us know in the comments below, and as long as we’re able, we’ll get it done. For now, we hope you enjoy Pocketnow’s Google Nexus 6 unboxing.
