One of the biggest questions of the year, and even last year if you think of it, is the status of Google Glass. It’s amazing that Google began to tease a future of Glass since 2012, and now that we’re reaching the end of 2014, we still don’t have a product that’s ready for consumers. If you’re still considering taking the plunge to a “Minority Report” future, new reports don’t paint a pretty picture.

Reuters has just published an extensive study of the status of Google Glass, and according to some sources familiar with the matter, the product might not be launched until 2015, that’s if it does launch. The article includes some interesting detective work as Reuters took the time to contact Google Glass app developers, and actually discovered that some have already stopped building apps for it. Others simply mentioned a lack of interest to continue supporting the platform, even though they weren’t specific on the reasons why.

Google still claims to have hundreds of its members working on Google Glass, but at the moment, I will admit that it’s harder to see people using Glass on the street, and specially when products like Android Wear can mimic the Glass functionality to some degree.
