How often do you use your digital assistant every day? Some may think that Siri, Cortana and Google Now are just gimmicks, but according to some recent studies, that highly depends on how old you are. If you’re wondering how different usage patterns are when it comes to voice search, it seems Google asked itself the same question, and the answers are not shockers at all.
According to a new study commission by Google, 55% of users under 18 will use any voice search service, be it Google Now, Siri or Cortana, more than once a day in comparison to 41% of grownups. This number grows to a staggering 75% for the cases of teenagers that actually use their smartphones more than 11 hours a day. The study also reveals something that’s quite obvious, and it’s that 57% of teenagers aren’t worried about public etiquette when using their smartphones around friends, where as only 24% of adults will be willing to not care about their surroundings.
When it comes to the most common usage scenarios for voice search, teenagers rely on it for homework advice, playing music and checking movie show times. Adults on the other hand rely on it most for text messages and asking for directions.
Do you agree with these studies? For us, these numbers do make sense, but the fact that the loss of public etiquette is being lost in newer generations does make us worry about the future of social interaction. Make sure you leave your thoughts in the comments down bellow.
