Galaxy S7 Lens Cover Hands-On: Telephoto and Fisheye in a snap (Video)

This is about the only context where putting a cap over a cover makes a lick of sense.

Samsung seems to be making a lot of it in general this year with its debut of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge along with the Gear 360. Another product to get the mobile photo buffs out in the world all giddy is the Galaxy S7 Lens Cover.

It comes in the form of a rather plain case that subtly invokes a camera grip to really seal the aesthetic deal. The actual lenses that go along into the threaded socket on the S7’s camera? They pin down two viewing extremes: a telephoto lens and a fisheye one. And they do their jobs.

It’s a bit of an awkward proposition carrying around a phone with a peculiar set of specs (no, the other “specs”), but if you think it’s well worth the investment for what you get (in lieu of carrying a camera aka another whole darn device), check them out when the pricing and availability details come through.

Until then, it’s our hands-on video to sate your wants. Also see our clips of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge.
