Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ getting its first update, with significant improvements
Since the Galaxy S6 edge+ is basically a Galaxy Note5 without a stylus — having most, if not all of its internals shared across the two smartphones — it is just normal for software updates to roll out, if not simultaneously, to both devices. The Note 5 received a refresh last week, and now its time for the Galaxy S6 edge+ to get the same OTA update. It’s a significant one, so you should definitely install as soon as it hits your device.
Weighing 138.14MB, the update will bring build number G928GDDU2AOJ5 to your phone, and with it, battery optimisations as well as call improvements, in addition to some other security enhancements. These changes are detailed in the screenshot below, together with a disclaimer that you will not be able to downgrade once you apply, due to security policies. But, with so many improvements, we’re not quite sure you’d want to downgrade at all.
Check for the update’s existence manually if your device hasn’t already notified you, and, in case you already got it, let us know of your findings in the comments below!
