Quite contrary to today’s possibly-faked video leak of the device, we are now seeing a set of images of what could be the upcoming Galaxy S5 Prime from Samsung. We are taking our first look at a device which, well, looks pretty similar to the original S5.
Looking toward the bottom of the device, we see what looks to be a slightly larger USB flap than the Galaxy S5, which means water resistance is likely still a go. Also, there looks to be a bottom-firing speaker, which is at least a step forward from the tinny rear-facing units we’ve come to associate with Samsung devices.
There also looks to be only one dip in the rear casing for both the camera and what we assume is the heart-rate monitor. The rear material bears the same perforated look we first saw on the original S5, but this material looks to be more reflective. It is hard to tell whether the unit merely caught the light just right, or if we are dealing with a metal backing (as previous rumors have suggested).
Moving on to the front of the device, we are met with everyone’s best friend, TouchWiz. There are no software differences to report that are immediately clear to us. The actual display itself could have a 2K (2560×1600) resolution, but this particular leak lends no credence whatsoever to that rumor.
Apart from the images above, no other details were provided by the source’s tipster. In any case, owners of the original Galaxy S5, the last 24 hours have not been good ones for you.
