Galaxy S 4 Snapdragon 800 LTE-Advanced refresh caught on camera

As if Samsung’s Galaxy S 4 wasn’t an attractive enough smartphone already, the manufacturer has gone ahead and already re-tooled the handset, outfitting it with a brand-new Snapdragon 800 SoC and giving it support for the latest high-speed LTE-Advanced networks. While there’s no indication that Samsung is planning to bring this version of the Android to anything but Asian markets, we still find ourselves captivated by news of this upgrade, and today get our first chance to check out the hardware itself.

Unsurprisingly, these look little different from the first generation of GS4 variants. There’s a big LTE-Advanced logo around back, and it also shows up during the phone’s boot sequence. Samsung also adds the LTE-A designation to the phone’s official name in superscript, to help distinguish it from earlier designs.

The LTE-Advanced support aside, would you be anxious to see Samsung release Snapdragon-800-based GS4s in your market, or would you rather have Samsung hold off on the chip until it’s ready to release its next flagship?
