Galaxy S 4 Active underwater trial (Video)

With some killer specs that very nearly measure up to the dry land version of the Galaxy S 4, the GS4 Active would make a decent smartphone even if you never found the need to put its dust- and water-resistance to the test. Of course, we’re not going to let a major selling point like that go uninvestigated.

Sure, Samsung showed us some underwater GS4 Active action during its Samsung Premiere event, but we had to check this out for ourselves. After all, even knowing how this phone’s specifically engineered to withstand submersion, we can’t help but feel a twinge of concern when dropping such an expensive piece of electronics in a tank of water – we want to see this first-hand and up close.

As Samsung mentioned, while the GS4 Active’s touchscreen won’t function underwater, the handset’s hardware buttons still give you a means to interact with software, enabling underwater photo and video support.
