Google’s got free Star Wars Cardboard viewers (if you’re lucky)

As you may have heard us discussing on this week’s Pocketnow Weekly podcast, the new Star Wars designs for the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 on Verizon can come off as a little, well, underwhelming. After all, the color patterns aren’t anything you couldn’t cook up in Moto Maker on your own, and while they do look damn good, it might have been nice to get some exclusive back pattern that couldn’t be found elsewhere. We also noted, though, that Verizon had another Star Wards promotion that felt a lot more legit, with its special Star Wars character design Google Cardboard viewers. When we first learned about them, they were for Verizon customers only, but today they hit the Google Store for all to enjoy – totally free.

Well, you might be able to enjoy one, anyway. If – and that’s a big if – you can get your order in.

We first heard of this offer a couple hours back, but the site wasn’t giving us a chance to actually order one. Then they were in stock, then out of stock, then certain designs were in stock but not others, then we could add one to our cart but the order process wouldn’t complete … it’s been a roller coaster of emotions.

Right now, we’re not sure what your chances are for actually coming away with one, but it can’t hurt to try. Hit up that source link, keep hitting refresh, and you might just take home a free Google Cardboard viewer. Good luck!
