The four-inch, larger screen for the iPhone 5 was in the rumors since day one and re-iterated in the second-wave of hear-say after Apple’s official unveiling of the iPhone 4S. On this very same note, screens are being allegedly shipped for an upcoming iOS device.

According to recent reports, a certain four-inch LCD screen has started shipping but for a new iOS device that has not yet been named. Hitachi Displays, Ltd. and Sony Mobile Display Corporation will reportedly team up with Toshiba Mobile Display Co., Ltd. in 2012 to create “Japan Display”. The source cited by Macotakara doesn’t give out any exact information; if this turns out to be true, the next iPhone might feature a larger screen, something that some Apple fans (and those waiting for a larger screen to go iPhone) have been waiting for.
