With a design change to the homepage of Android site, it seems that Google is about to drop the factory images for Android 7.0 Nougat for Nexus devices dating back to the Nexus 6 and 9 as well as the General Mobile 4G Android One phone. The Nexus Player and Pixel C are also in on the action.

Regardless of whether your device(s) is on the Android Beta Program or not, you should receive your OTA within a couple of weeks. You can also flash the 7.0 update once the files are available at Google’s developer site.

With the update comes multi-window apps, quick multitasking shortcuts and bundled notifications with instant messaging. Nougat brings an integrated Vulkan API for faster gaming and visual interface elements and Daydream VR compatibility. Doze, introduced in Android Marshmallow, now activates, bringing processor activity down even when you carry your device in your pocket or purse.

Google is also promoting LG’s upcoming launch of the V20 as the first native-Nougat device.
