Are you still bitter about Facebook Messenger being its own, bloated, starchy app? Feel like sacrificing your high-end phone and your first world living to at least get a Messenger app that’s less packed, less convenient and more minimalistic?

Facebook Messenger Lite is just for you! In addition to the Marketplace that it introduced today, the company announced the 10MB version of its app for low-end and older Android devices. Obviously, though ironically, Lite will not have features like Marketplace.

“With Messenger Lite, more people can stay in contact, regardless of network conditions or storage limitations on their Android devices,” said Engineering Manager Tom Mulcahy.

Basic messaging tasks can be done with photos and links. Users can also receive, but not send stickers. That’s it.

Kenya, Tunisia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Venezuela will get Messenger Lite first. Other countries will also receive it soon enough.
