Chat Heads Invade Facebook Messenger

By Stephen Schenck April 12, 2013, 12:24 pm

Facebook Home arrives today (for those of you with supported devices), but even if you’ve got other hardware, or maybe just aren’t ready to take the leap to that fully immersive Facebook experience, one of the software’s main features is coming to another Facebook product; a new update out today for Facebook Messenger brings Chat Heads to the Android app.

Just like with Facebook Home, the Chat Heads in Messenger will show your friends’ pictures in little movable circles, which can follow you around your Android phone. That means that you’ll be able to keep on talking with friends as you engage with other apps, docked to the sides of your handset’s screen.

POCKETNOW VIDEO OF THE DAY

Frankly, as this seemed to be one of the more interesting aspects of Facebook Home, it’s fantastic to see it also become available like this, where it’s (for now, at least) accessible to a whole lot more users.
