Meerkat? Periscope? Nope, Facebook, as usual. While testing continues to go on for its new Profile Video feature, another feature you might have seen making the rounds on your feed is Live Video. It started out with a few notable people streaming their luncheons and stuff, but the “celebrity” beta circle has rapidly grown.

Now, Facebook is expanding Live Video capability to everyone in the US toting an iPhone. We find that the feature’s accessible from the status update screen and the interface of the feature recalls the Periscope UI. Also available is the capability to subscribe to frequent streamers from your News Feed.

The rest of the world will get it “soon” on both iOS and Android.
