Facebook 1.2 for Windows Mobile Standard Edition

For the longest time we’ve been stuck with Facebook for Windows Mobile version At one point the version number changed to 1.1 on the Marketplace, but the application’s version number was the same and there really weren’t any new features. Today I noticed that on Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard Edition (non-touchscreen), there was a version 1.2 listed in the Marketplace. Upon installing that version, we see that the application’s version number is So something must have changed, right? Low and behold, we’ve got some new features!

First of all, there are now little icons and numbers representing comments as well as the number of people who “like” each post. There’s a new menu that lets you comment AND read other people’s comments AND “like” things. There’s also a new “Search” command in the menu that lets you easily find new people and add them as friends or send them messages (depending on their security settings).

Unfortunately version 1.2 is nowhere to be found for Windows Mobile Professional Edition (touchscreen) devices. Hopefully we’ll see an update to that soon.
