By Stephen Schenck June 28, 2013, 12:58 pm

Anyone who’s been keeping an ear to the smartphone rumor mill over the course of the last year or so has undoubtedly heard the name @evleaks pop up more than once. Throw his name in our site search engine up top, and you’ll see him as the source for dozens and dozens of leaks, whether those are press renders, camera samples, launch info, or just good old hardware specs. Now @evleaks has decided to drop the anonymity and go public with his story, and we can finally tell you that he’s none other than our former colleague Evan Blass.

Evan sits down with Android Police to tell the story of @evleaks, while sharing some insight into what it’s like being a smartphone leak heavyweight. He talks about some of the really big stories he’s managed to break, which ones got so much attention that they surprised even him, and all the backlash he got over that Galaxy S 4 render.

POCKETNOW VIDEO OF THE DAY

It’s a fascinating read, and while this time Evan isn’t sharing any news of what’s next for smartphones, anyone with even a passing interest in leaks should check it out.
