Here we are months after Google’s official release of Lollipop code to the Android Open Source Project, and yet updates to the newest version of Android remain rare. HTC, however, has been at the forefront of the development that has occurred, updating its unlocked One M8 models within 90 days of the source code dropping as promised. Since then, updates have been slowly making it to other One M8 models, and today we’ve received word from multiple sources that the European HTC One M8 Lollipop update has also begun its official rollout.

The news was first shared by HTC’s Communications lead Jeff Gordon, who tweeted “HTC One (M8) owners in Europe, have a sweet tooth this morning? Check your software updates!” That was quickly followed up by another tweet, this time from ROM chef LlabTooFeR, revealing further details: “As I said, lollipop hits EU M8 devices. ROM version is 4.16.401.10 (780.00MB).”

Following that, an image was tweeted by a European who supposedly received the update on their phone, showing off a full changelog and confirming the update size and ROM version. The list of changes includes Android 5.0 Lollipop for one, as well as miscellaneous bug fixes and UI enhancements to better match Google’s updated design guidelines as part of the new Android build.

The update is slowly rolling out across Europe – if you have the update, let us know down in the comments!
