It’s coming up on two weeks now since Google introduced the Motorola-made Nexus 6, and while that phone has yet to even go up for pre-order, we’re already getting ready to welcome an even newer Motorola handset to the Android family. For a couple months now we’ve been anticipating the introduction of the Droid Turbo for Verizon, and teasers have been building up to a planned launch this week, getting started with a press event tomorrow. Before that day comes, we’ve got some last-minute leaks to check out, including some new pics and sales details.

We’ve seen a couple shots of the Droid Turbo hardware already, but this is our first glimpse at the phone’s retail packaging – and really, considering how close we are to its launch, it’s about time something like that showed up. As we can see on the box, a high-speed turbo Moto Turbo Charger is included, but otherwise there’s not a lot this reveals.

Beyond the new pics, this source also provides a possible date for the start of Droid Turbo sales: October 30. Thursdays fit with Verizon’s launch habits, so after introducing the phone tomorrow, we may see sales begin at its retail stores just a little later this week. Full details (like pricing) have yet to surface, but we’re likely just a matter of hours away from getting the full scoop on this smartphone.
