Droid Maxx 2 specs: a little déjà vu, now with a Verizon logo

By Stephen Schenck October 27, 2015, 1:37 pm

“Wait a second. Droid Maxx 2 specs? Haven’t you guys been telling me for weeks now that the Droid Maxx 2 is just going to be the US version of the Moto X Play? And didn’t you already go over the full hardware picture for that phone back when it launched?” You are a quick one, you know that? And you’re absolutely right: the Droid Maxx 2 we saw Verizon and Motorola show off today is pretty much the same phone the rest of the world already has. For a brief moment it looked like Motorola might try and squeeze in a minor SoC upgrade, but now it doesn’t seem we’re even getting that much. So why look at these specs again.

Well, they’re 98% the same, sure, but look closely and you’ll spot a difference or two between this hardware and the original Moto X Play. Admittedly, we’re talking stuff like different band support – something we’d almost take for granted when dealing with a Verizon carrier-edition model like this – but for the sake of completion, this is what you get with the Droid Maxx 2:
