Dell XPS 15 and 17 with 12th gen Intel H-series CPUs are now available

Dell announced the brand new XPS 15 and XPS 17 series of laptops not that long ago, and the next generation of laptops are now available. Both of the new XPS 15 and 17 laptops can be configured with up to 12th generation Intel Core i9-12900HK processor, and NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti or 3060 GPUs.

Dell XPS 15

The Dell XPS 15 can be configured with up to Intel Core i9 processors, and it weighs only 1.81kg (3.99 lbs), depending on the configuration. The laptop has two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, a full-size SD card reader, a 3.5mm headphone/microphone jack, and a wedge-shaped lock.


The XPS 15 can be configured with up to 12th generation Intel Core i9-12900HK processor, and up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM. The laptop comes with the integrated Intel UHD or Irix Xe graphics, and users can also select the NVIDIA RTX 3050 4GB, or the RTX 3050 Ti 4GB graphics cards. The storage starts at 256GB PCIe 3 x4 SSD, and it goes up to 4TB PCIe 4 x4 SSD, although it supports up to 8TB total storage.

The 15.6-inch display panel can be set to either the 4K resolution, supporting 100% Adobe RGB and providing 500-nits of brightness, or the 3.5k model, or the FHD+ panel. The standard 1920 x 1200 display supports 100% sRGB minimum and has 500-nits of peak brightness. The battery is either 56Whr or 86Whr, depending on configuration, and it has a quad-speaker setup with dual microphones.

Dell XPS 17

The Dell XPS 17 is the company’s most powerful XPS yet to this date, and it boasts Intel Core processors up to i9. The laptop, depending on configuration, weighs 2.21 kg (4.87 lbs), and it comes with four Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, one 3.5mm headphone/microphone jack, wedge-shaped lock slot.

The device has configuration options that contain the base Intel UGH or Intel Iris Xe graphics, and users can also add the NVIDIA RTX 3050 4GB, or the RTX 3060 6GB. As for memory, users can select from a wide variety of options starting at 8GB, up to 64GB, while the storage starts out at 256GB PCIe 3 x4 SSD, up to 4TB PCIe 4x 4 SSD (Supports up to 8TB of total storage)

The display is 17-inches, and it has 4K options with 100% Adobe RGB, supporting Display HDR 400 and providing 500-nits of brightness. There’s also a 17-inch FHD model that supports 100% of the sRGB minimum. The laptop also comes with a 97Whr battery built-in, which is the largest battery that you can legally take on the plane with you. The XPS 17 also has a quad-speaker design and dual microphone array.

Availability & Price

The latest generation of Dell XPS 15 will start at USD $1,449, or CAD $1,799. The larger Dell XPS 17 will retail from USD $1,849, or CAD $2,299. It’s also worth noting that if you want to purchase the XPS 17 with NVIDIA RTX 3060 graphics, you’ll have to wait until April. The devices will be available on Dell’s website.
