Dell Venue Pros Start Shipping This Week, Free Extras As Apology

Following yesterday’s news of ongoing Dell Venue Pro delays, the company has clarified its shipping schedule and is offering some incentives to help make up for not delivering the smartphones as planned.

Sure enough, there are some Venue Pros nearly ready to ship out to those who pre-ordered the handset, and they’ll start to head out by the end of the week. While the stocks don’t appear sufficient to handle all the orders Dell has received, at least the company isn’t waiting until 2011 to begin fulfilling them. Dell said that just when a customer ends up getting his or her Venue Pro will be based upon when the order initially went in. Unfortunately, you might just end up having to wait until the new year if you only recently ordered the phone.

To make amends, Dell is upgrading all orders placed before today to overnight shipping, and is going to throw in a free Bluetooth headset as a bonus. The Plantronics Explorer 240 is a $30 value, but you’re going to have to wait yet another 4-6 weeks for Dell to ship one out to you.

As Dell works out just how many Venue Pro orders it will be able to fulfil, and when, it will further update customers with shipping estimates.
