The Dell Venue Pro was one of the most anticipated Windows Phone 7 devices to come out but along the way it became the least talked about, especially after all the launch saga came to an end. Back at the end of March we heard that Dell was allegedly preparing another firmware update for the smartphone with no details on fixes or roll-out dates.

This own Dell Venue Pro firmware update will allegedly start rolling out on the 18th of May according to an XDA Developers user who contacted Dell Support regarding some of the issues he was experiencing with the device. The smartphone was plagued with initial stock issues, tons of delays and several subsequent bugs out of which the WiFi bug was the more frequent among all — with also a possible fix out that made you lose your warranty.

Bugfix release is what users should expect if May 18 turns out to be true and we sure hope Dell manages to fix the issues with the smartphone which by itself is a superb device, scoring 4.5 out of 5 in our review.
