Another one of the new tablets that Dell announced is the Dell Venue 11 Pro.  This one has a nice 11 inch screen which would be better for desktop applications compared to the smaller Venue 8 Pro. The tablet includes options for Atom or Core i3/i5 Haswell chips, a 10.8-inch 1080p display, and 2GB of RAM (with up to 8GB available). Storage starts at 32GB (going up to 256GB), and this tablet measures 10mm thick and weighs 1.57 pounds. The base Venue 11 Pro will go for just about $500. Separate accessories include a Touch Cover-like keyboard, as well a docking station, and a hard hinged keyboard with an extra battery inside.  While the soft cover seems similar to the Surface’s Touch Cover in that it magnetically snaps onto the tablet and the keyboard is extremely thin… the keys are not completely flat. There is some movement to them which will give you some nice tactile feedback for typing.  There’s also another piece on the back which will protect the back of the tablet, but it can also be folder under itself to make for a little stand to keep the tablet’s screen propped up on a table.

If you had some interest in Microsoft’s Surface Pro or Surface Pro 2, you’re probably going to want to also take a look at Dell’s Venue 11 Pro.  It offers similar configurations and capabilities, but also offers some lower-end options if you don’t want to spend all of that money on higher-end hardware.  It also has an active digitizer and stylus with palm rejection, hover pointing, and pressure sensitivity for those desktop apps that require more precision.  It’s unclear if the digitizer supports Wintab drivers for professional graphics applications though.  Check out our video below to see our first look at the new Dell Venue 11 Pro.
