LG Stylus 2 To Debut At Mobile World Congress (PRNewsFoto/LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A)

The LG G Stylo has a sequel — and it has a bunch of names to go along with it. LG Stylus 2? LG G Stylo 2? Cricket Wireless says “LG Stylo 2, please” as it prepares to take the phone into its lineup.

The LG Stylo 2 is nearly identical to the G Stylo — a mid-range 5.7-inch phablet with with all the (now-deprecated) features of LG’s stylus-enhanced software. Sure, it’s not the sharpest display around at 720p, but it’s running with Android Marshmallow and a 3,000mAh battery.

And while $169.99 sounds like a decent price for the package — plus a $50 bill credit for new sign-ups (or a $100 credit for T-Mobile switchers) — you’ll have to wait until May 13 to get it. Yep, this phone will launch five days after Mother’s Day in the US. The phone, as touted in Cricket’s press release, as “the perfect smartphone for the media-loving mom on the go” that can multitask with the G Stylo 2 in one hand, “leaving the other hand free for something else — like unpacking groceries or fixing Jr.’s boo-boo.”

Boost Mobile is currently selling the “LG G Stylo 2” for $149.99 after a $30 rebate for a limited time only.
