Cortana updates with Christmas-themed remarks

Ever since Microsoft released Cortana a few months ago, the voice assistant has almost always been on the front lines when it comes to witty and seasonally-appropriate replies thanks to the dedication of the Microsoft team in Redmond. Today that continues, with Cortana Christmas updates adding a few new neat tricks. Let’s have a look, shall we?

There are many queries which receive the themed responses from Cortana. For example, trying asking the assistant “Where is Santa?” and she might respond with “Santa could be enjoying some of Mrs. Claus’s baked cookies.” Ask her to sing you a Christmas song, and Cortana bolts off into a rendition of Deck The Halls.

In case you were itching to try the commands yourself, here’s a list, courtesy of Windows Central:

  • Merry (or Happy) Christmas!
  • Where is Santa?
  • Sing me a Christmas song
  • Do you like Christmas?
  • What do you want for Christmas?

Of course, this probably isn’t all of the commands that can now be understood as part of these Cortana Christmas updates – Microsoft couldn’t go without an Easter egg or two, right? – so be sure to try other things out and let us know if you’re successful in the comments section below!
