Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch hits US carriers starting early next month

Samsung’s Gear S2 smartwatch is here: after launching back at IFA, we saw retail sales get started here in the US earlier this month. At least, that was the case for the standard Gear S2 and the Gear S2 classic, but we’ve yet to see availability begin for the smartwatch’s cellular-connected edition. Samsung confirmed that carriers would get the ball rolling there sometime this fall, and rumors suggested that T-Mobile and Verizon could both pick up the Gear S2 beginning November 6. It turns out that report was half right, as both carriers start confirming the details of their Gear S2 sales.

Verizon gets its hands on the smartwatch first, and today starts pre-orders for the Gear S2 with the aim of delivering the wearable by November 5. Priced at $350, the cell-enabled version of the Gear S2 represents only a $50 premium over the standard Bluetooth/WiFi edition.

T-Mobile gets the ever-so-slightly shorter end of the stick, starting its own Gear S2 sales a week later and at a higher price. There, the smartwatch hits both online and brick-and-mortar availability on November 15, where the Gear S2 will run you just about $360. While pre-orders aren’t available, interested shoppers are able to register for more information on sales once they get started.

Retailers like Best Buy continue to offer the standard Gear S2 for just under $300, or the Gear S2 classic with its knurled bezel ring for closer to $350.
