Canada and Europe get Oculus Rift sales starting September 20

With the HTC Vive getting an early advantage against the Oculus Rift on global sales, it’s now time to see if the waiting has paid off.

The Facebook-owned company has announced that pre-orders are up across the UK, France, Germany and Canada for its spotlight VR headset. Bundled along with the product is platformer “Lucky’s Tale” and, of course, a media marketplace called the Oculus Store.

Currys, John Lewis and GAME, along with London-based Harrods will stock the Rift in the UK while FNAC has France covered. MediaMarkt and Saturn will have the products in-store as well. You can order your Rift headset online via your national Amazon portal. For Canada, you’ll stick to Best Buys and the Microsoft Store online.

Customers can make an appointment for a demo with Oculus Live. Players around the world also have the chance to play around with the Touch controllers in-store starting in October.

Suggested prices are £549 and €699 in Europe and $849 in Canada. First fulfillments are scheduled for September 20.
