If you bought a Motorola Droid RAZR and were disappointed when the RAZR Maxx, with it’s MUCH larger battery, you might just be in luck!

XDA-Developer wardo5757 has discovered that it’s possible to replace the RAZR’s battery with that from the RAZR Maxx, and essentially turn the former into the latter.

Of course doing so will void your warranty, requires disassembling your phone, and you’ll need the new battery a new back-plate and replacement port cover, but it can be done!

Head over to this thread on XDA-Developers to find out how to upgrade your 1780mAh battery to a whopping 3300mAh battery!

If only Motorola would offer existing Droid RAZR owners an option to mail in their current phone and upgrade them with the new battery for a nominal charge — maybe that $100 difference in price.
