Verizon has been cranking its promotions machine into gear with BOGO deals and straight up discounts. This new pair of deals, though, will get you to consider buying a smartwatch with your phone and internet service for both — and there’s plenty of buy-in to get it all.
For a limited time, if you buy an Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular, you can get $200 off an iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus or iPhone X on a two-year device payment plan and an unlimited data plan as well as a $50 iTunes gift card. You’ll have to get unlimited data service with the smartwatch, but it’s free after AutoPay credit for the first device.
While we’re technically dealing with Tizen on the other deal, Verizon is also offering $200 off a “top” Android phone — those being the Galaxy S8, S8+, Note 8 and the Moto Z2 Force Edition — and $50 in Google Play Store credit if you buy a Gear S3 with service. Unlike the Apple Watch, unlimited data for the Gear S3 costs $15 per month after AutoPay. Verizon figures that customers can make up for that by saving $200 on the watch if they get it on a two-year contract or at full retail price.
As we said, there’s a lot of buy-in to handle here if you want to take advantage of these confusing, but significant discounts. Is it worth the hassle? You decide.
