Blue HTC One could be just about to arrive

Compared to options like we’re expecting from the Moto X, or even from models like the Galaxy S 4, the color selection available for the HTC One has been positively reserved. Given the phone’s metal build, that’s not entirely surprising, but even from the get-go we knew about a third, red version of the phone, complementing the original black and silver. Of course, it took several months before that red model would go official, but it’s here now. Mack in May, we heard rumors about a fourth color for the HTC One, with plans to release the handset in blue. That rumor sort of stalled-out for a little, but it’s now back, along with claims that this blue One will go up for sale in just a matter of weeks.

This time, the blue One is tied to a carrier, with a source claiming to have found mention of an HTC model HTC6500LVWBLU in Verizon’s database, described as an “HTC One in Blue.”

We’ve already seen August 15 mentioned as a possible retail launch for the One on Verizon, and while this source can’t confirm the same, he is clear that the carrier intends to release the phone sometime this month.

Assuming this is true, we wonder if Verizon will have an exclusive on the blue One – at least for a while – and if that might help it make up for being so late to the party.
