BlackBerry Q10 Likely Not Coming to US Until Late May or June

Last week, with the launch of BlackBerry 10, we learned that while some nations would be getting the Z10 straight away, or at least in the very near future, BlackBerry fans in the US would have quite a bit of a wait on their hands, with the phone not arriving until March. Carrier leaks have suggested that the US won’t even get a break and see the phone in early March, but be waiting until nearly April. Of course, the Z10 isn’t the only BB10 handset on the horizon, and we also learned that BlackBerry would be releasing the hardware keyboard Q10 sometime in April. We suppose it shouldn’t be too surprising to now learn that the Q10 will face a similar delay in the US, which Thorsten Heins has now confirmed.

While many nations will get the Q10 in April, Heins says that the US will likely lag behind them by another eight to ten weeks, apparently with the phone now in line for arrival in late May or even June.

That’s just really unfortunate for US BlackBerry users looking to keep a phone with the classic BlackBerry look while simultaneously checking out the new BB10 OS. Heins seems sympathetic, calling himself disappointed over the delays, and saying that his company is doing what it can to help US carriers speed-up their testing periods.
