BlackBerry Bold Touch Specs Leaked: 1.2GHz Snapdragon, 768MB RAM

RIM is apparently not messing around when it comes to the hardware for the next wave of BlackBerrys; we’ve just got our hands on leaked spec data for the upcoming Bold Touch, and like the Torch 2 and other future RIM smartphones, it will be packing a 1.2GHz CPU.

In addition to the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8655 processor, the Bold Touch (9930, aka Dakota) will hold 768MB of RAM and 8GB of flash memory. Though only measuring in at 2.8 inches, high pixel density will give the screen a full VGA resolution for you to enjoy. On the back, you’ll find a five-megapixel camera with 720p video-recording support.

RIM appears to be planning two different radios for the Bold Touch, one with quad-band 3G and AT&T’s frequencies, and one with tri-band 3G including the 1700MHz band. HSDPA/HSUPA will give the smartphone 4G-ish speeds where available. WiFi connectivity will support 802.11b/g/n, including the 5GHz N band.

This data comes from a document dated all the way back in January, so consider this to be an early vision of the phone that may not reflect how it’s actually configured when it eventually goes up for sale. From what we can see now, though, it looks like a solid option for BlackBerry users who still crave a phone with a QWERTY keyboard.
