HTC preparing jumbo-sized One?

What’s next for HTC? It’s starting to look like the First is a bust, putting even more pressure on the One. We’ve already talked a little about possible new directions for the One, including that of a version running stock Android and a more petite edition, known by codename M4 and possibly arriving as the One Mini. Now a new rumor has things going in the opposite direction, suggesting HTC could be planning a large-screen version of the One, as well.

While we don’t have any precise measurement to offer, this plus-sized One would reportedly have a display in the five-to-six-inch range. Another five-incher like the Droid DNA sounds a little unnecessary, so maybe HTC would direct its focus more towards the higher end of that range.

Unfortunately, that’s all this source was able to share about this new One model – we don’t have any idea if internal hardware might differ, and while there’s really nowhere to go in the SoC department (unless this larger One arrives late enough to run a Snapdragon 800), we can always hold out hope of seeing things like microSD support come to this model. That is, assuming there’s any truth to this rumor – for the moment, we’re at a loss for evidence.
