We want all tablets, and phones, to look like this HiSense VIDAA Mirror slate

By Anton D. Nagy January 7, 2016, 11:57 pm

How important are bezels for you? We’re constantly seeking the bezel-less tablet (and phone), looking at screen-to-body ratios, so it must be an important thing to own (and show off) a sexy device. In a world where everyone copies everyone, we hope someone copies this HiSense VIDAA Mirror tablet.

The product itself is nothing new. It was spotted for the first time in China at the end of August, and then it was nowhere to be found, until it came to the CES 2016 show floor. This is one tablet where the internals (1.8 GHz Quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, QHD resolution) are less important than its looks.

Look at those bezels! They measure 9.5mm (less than a centimeter). Yes, we know what you are thinking: why couldn’t the bottom bezel be as thin as the rest? But still, it’s a 90%+ screen-to-body ratio.

This is not about where and when you can purchase. It’s more about whether you think this is a path OEMs should aim to follow, or, on the contrary, whether they should stay away from. We like it. Do you?
