Screen sizes are becoming larger and larger and so is the “standard” display dimension. Manufacturers are trying to minimize the bezel in order to offer the larger screens in a chassis as small as possible; while we’re still far away from the real “bezel-less” phone, their efforts are solid and remarkable.

According to a recent report, South Korean manufacturer Pantech is preparing a real Samsung Galaxy S 4 competitor (or alternative) part of the Vega R series of devices, the IM-A870. It will pack a “bezel-less” five-inch screen and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 SoC. The report also notes support for giga WiFi (probably 802.11ac) as well as Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as the platform of choice.

The end of this month is when the phone is expected to see the light of day, according to the report.
