Black Week (s)? Black Month? We’re probably going to need a more inclusive marketing term for the whole period leading up to the traditional Black Friday and Cyber Monday savings events, with many retailers either considerably widening the deal window or at least starting things early by putting a few products on compelling sales.
Best Buy employed the latter tactic to secure more time in the public eye, unveiling a rich selection of heavily marked-down upcoming items last week while prematurely opening the festivities with a $550 unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7, free fast charge wireless pad included, and $600 Surface Pro 4 keyboard bundle.
Both those special offers have expired in the meantime, but now the LG G5 is sold alongside complimentary $300 gift cards. There are a couple of strings attached, of course, though Verizon and Sprint subscribers will likely not mind buying and activating the modular phone with their carriers’ respective monthly installment plans.
On Big Red, you can get the grossly undervalued 5.3-incher at $26 a month for two years with just titan and silver color options, whereas the “Now Network” lets you choose between titan, silver, pink and gold coats of paint at $24 a month through Best Buy. Overall, you’ll be paying $624 or $576 on a Quad HD, Nougat-ready, Snapdragon 820 and 4GB RAM-packing handheld, with an additional $300 coupon thrown in you can use towards any other BB purchase. A-mazing!
