AT&T’s Motorola Atrix HD Joins The Jelly Bean Club

We’ve already heard some good news this week when it comes to the availability of new Jelly Bean updates for some of our favorite Android phones, learning about updates arriving for both the Samsung Galaxy S III on Verizon and HTC’s EVO 4G LTE on Sprint. The week may nearly be over, but that doesn’t mean update news is about to slow down, and today we continue along those lines with Jelly Bean news from another carrier, as well as another manufacturer.

This time it’s AT&T and Motorola that take the spotlight, upon the announcement that the Motorola Atrix HD is getting its own Jelly Bean update today. The Atrix HD debuted back in July, after Jelly Bean had already hit the scene, so in one sense it’s been playing catch-up its whole smartphone life. While today doesn’t quite bring the Atrix HD all the way up to the present, only gracing with Android 4.1 instead of a more recent build, it’s still a long-awaited treat that Atrix HD owners are bound to appreciate.

To cut to the punch and get started with Jelly Bean straight away, make sure your handset is connected to a WiFi network, pull up your About screen, and check for the update manually. If you’re a little more patient, OTA notifications should be hitting soon.
