Next Wednesday, May 1, LG has a press event scheduled to take place in New York City. While initial save-the-dates didn’t reveal just what LG intended to have on the agenda, we learned earlier this week that the Optimus G Pro had been tapped to star. LG hasn’t gone official with the details on which US carrier(s) the phone would be announced for, but signs at the FCC pointed to AT&T stepping up to give the handset a home. As we wait to get the full story from LG, a render of the Optimus G Pro in AT&T livery has leaked, giving us an early look at what to expect.

This confirms the carrier-branding-free face we saw revealed in LG’s invitation, and reveals a pretty tasteful little AT&T logo around back – certainly, it’s a lot easier on the eyes than anything Verizon might dream up.

Of course, there are still questions we’ll be looking to this event to answer: how will AT&T price the G Pro? Are other carriers interested, which we just haven’t heard about yet? And when will it actually go up for sale?

LG’s been feeling the momentum of some really nice first-quarter sales, so we can bet that it’s going to be taking this launch seriously, hoping to keep that trend going and work out a larger footprint for itself in the US.
