AT&T tries to move Samsung Galaxy phones with free Gear S2 deal

By Stephen Schenck January 20, 2016, 5:14 pm

Samsung’s next big smartphones are nearly here, as we look forward to seeing the Galaxy S7 family make its debut in just a few more weeks. When those phones finally arrive, we’re sure to see all sorts of new efforts by retailers and carriers alike to move existing Galaxy-series stock, whether in the form of discounts or special bundle offers. Today we’re checking out an early instance of one of the latter, as AT&T encourages shoppers to pick up a new Galaxy smartphone with the promise of a free Gear S2 smartwatch.

For a limited time, customers buying a new Samsung Galaxy phone on AT&T Next will also score a free Gear S2.

Not quite sold on this whole “wearables” thing? You’re still covered, as AT&T is also giving shoppers the chance to redeem their freebie in the form of a Galaxy Tab 4.

Finally, there’s an offer for Apple fans, too, though we’re moving out of “free” territory here: take home a new iPhone, and AT&T will hook you up with an iPad mini 2 for just about $100.

News of these deals arrives alongside a two-for-one smartphone deal for AT&T business customers, but we doubt that’s of much interest to you; hit up the source if you’re curious.
