AT&T quarterly earnings reflect subsuming of DIRECTV

Our coverage of earnings reports continues out of the material efforts of Google and Microsoft and into the infrastructure of mobile telecommunications with AT&T. AT&T can now claim DIRECTV under its revenues umbrella and boy, it has rained for the conglomerate.

Q3 total revenues jumped nearly 19 percent from last year to $39.1B while operating income moved up from $5.6B to $5.9B.

DIRECTV brought in 26,000 subscribers over the year. AT&T Mobility netted approximately 2.5 million adds to its network, which include 1.6 million smartphones, tablets, etc. and 1 million connected cars.
