The new ASUS ZenFone Max takes battery life seriously

ASUS has taken the challenge of gaining mindshare in its smartphone offerings, and so long it’s done a good job. The company’s bevy of affordable options for the ASUS ZenFone 2 have proven to give it a very popular selling point. What’s interesting is that it seems the company was just getting started, and today we see a new offering.

ASUS has just announced a bunch of phones today in a major launch event in India, but not all of them are really new devices, with the exception of the new ASUS ZenFone Max. The main selling point of this phone is its whopping 5,000 mAh battery, even though the company doesn’t spell how long it’ll last in regular or heavy usage. There are only a few devices with a battery this large in the market, and our experience has been rather positive though.

When it comes to the rest of its specs, this ZenFone Max reminds us of the ZenFone 2 Laser in its spec sheet, with a camera combo that includes a 13 megapixel f/2.0 main camera with laser autofocus and dual LED flash, in addition to a 5 megapixel selfie camera. It also includes Gorilla Glass 4 protecting its 5.5-inch display, though you wont be too blown away by the Snapdragon 410 with 2GB of RAM that powers it.

The new ASUS ZenFone Max is expected to launch in October. We should get more official data in the next few weeks.
