This phone was released in the United States a couple months ago, but we finally got our hands on one to take it for a spin. This was an important phone to circle back to. As we’ve mentioned in numerous other videos, this hasn’t been the best year for folks who prefer larger phones and bigger screens. There are plenty of options at a 5.5″ screen diagonal, but pushing larger than that, folks ha far fewer options to choose from.

There are two flavors of ZenFone 3, and we’re playing with the “higher end” model of this budget buster. A 1080p AMOLED display is paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset powers the guts of this gadget, and we’re happy to see another solid option in the USA for folks who need a dual SIM handset. On paper this phone also sports a formidable camera and a fast charging battery.

But that’s all the specs on paper. Does this phone live up to Asus marketing claims? Can it compete in an ever more saturated mid-range market? It’s time to dig in!
