When Asus officially introduced the Padfone smartphone-tablet duo at the end of May, they were hinting and also teasing an “around Christmas” availability. As much as we’d like the duo to be under your Christmas tree — though not sure you’ll want to grab one — it appears that you’ll have to wait some more for it.

From Engadget comes the latest rumor that the Asus Padfone will be present and coming out of MWC 2012 in February. We’ll also be there to see if this turns out to be true, along with the rumored Tegra 3 chip report. Does it seem right to you for a company to announce a product in May 2011 and to wait for it until March 2012 (possibly even April until it reaches the market)?
