Qualcomm hasn’t enjoyed much positive fame with the Snapdragon 810 processor, mainly because of how unreliable it can be with heating issues. ASUS is another company that’s had a great idea with the PadFone lineup, but has failed to wow consumers into buying a product in massive quantities, even if it makes a lot of sense. That said, PadFones haven’t really been famous in the spec department, and ASUS would decide to add the latest and greatest Snapdragon to its future PadFone, we could be in for something great.
Leaksfly is reporting that ASUS might be teaming up with Qualcomm for its next-generation hybrid. The PadFone S2 is reportedly going to launch with a Snapdragon 820 under the hood, even though we don’t expect this to be the launch device for the new processor. If true we’re looking at a flagship with a 5.5-inch screen with a QHD display, 4GB of RAM, storage options for 32 and 64GB, a 20.7 megapixel camera, and an 8 megapixel selfie shooter, in addition to a 3060 mAh battery for the smartphone module. It’s tablet accessory reportedly sports a 10-inch display and a 5100 mAh battery.
The only sad part about these rumors is that we might not see this combo launching before March 2016. Let’s hope ASUS doesn’t wait that long.
