It’s ASUS’s turn to take the spotlight at the Mobile World Congress, and this morning the company hosts its press event to cap-off the past week of teaser videos. After starting off with news of some more PC-focused services, including a whole lot of cloud-based offerings, the company finally got around to some mobile hardware, announcing the Padfone Infinity.

The Padfone Infinity steps up from the Padfone 2’s 4.7-inch 720p screen to a five-inch 1080p component. The handset features an aluminum construction with a brushed metal look. Its main camera has a 13-megapixel sensor and f/2.0 aperture, and there’s a two-megapixel front-facer. The phone is powered by a quad-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 SoC, supports NFC, has 2GB of RAM, and will operate on LTE networks.

The tablet bit of the Padfone Infinity has a 10.1-inch 1080p screen.

ASUS emphasizes the Padfone Infinity’s sound quality, going with side-mounted speakers on the phone to keep it loud even when laying flat, and uses a larger eighteen-millimeter when docked with its tablet.

China Unicom will be getting first dibs on the Padfone Infinity, with availability in other nations to follow. As for a price, you had better start saving, as this pair will cost just about 1000 euros, or around $1320. Sales will start in April.
