Apple isn’t famous for big company acquisitions, and that’s the main reason why many of us were shocked with the news last week that the company was planning to purchase Beats by Dre for $3.2 billion. We’ve heard rumors that the company plans to revamp its music accessories, and at the same time bring better quality audio to iTunes music, but again these are just rumors. At the moment though, it seems that there is a hurdle that both companies are facing, and we get some details this morning.

If you thought that Apple was keeping this acquisition quiet, rumors have it that it’s really the fact that the purchase isn’t yet final. According to the source, this deal might not be finalized until next week, and we’re even hearing that Apple might be considering leaving the Beats brand as a separate business, and not necessarily integrating the company to Apple, which is another thing that’s never been seen in the past.

We do know that Apple is desperate to offer a better competing service to Spotify, which has dramatically grown in Europe, and which could leave a dent in the music business that Apple has currently dominated. Whatever the case, we should see more official information at WWDC 2014, as rumors have Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine announcing the acquisition at the event.
